Pekalongan (August 5, 2024) – Community Service Program (KKN) Team II students from Diponegoro University (UNDIP) for the 2023/2024 academic year carried out their service activities in Simbang Kulon Village, Buaran District, Pekalongan Regency, from July 10, 2024, to August 19, 2024.

The government is a state institution responsible for regulating and managing various aspects of public life, including the fundamental need for public services. At the village level, the government plays a crucial role in administrative and public service functions directly related to the community.

Additionally, village governments significantly contribute to policy implementation and daily services, ranging from administrative assistance to executing government programs. Public services are fundamental and directly address the community’s basic needs. Efficient and effective public service delivery can enhance public welfare and satisfaction while strengthening trust in the government.

Therefore, a clear organizational structure is essential at all levels of government, from the lowest to the highest. An organizational chart visually represents the relationships between positions or departments within an organization. It is often presented in diagrams or charts that outline the hierarchy of positions from the highest to the lowest levels.

Organizational charts also include lines of communication that regulate the flow of communication between positions or departments. They must be transparent, accurately displaying the roles of village officials. Additionally, the chart should be easily understandable to the public, ensuring smooth service delivery.

A clear organizational structure ensures that every official understands their duties and responsibilities, allowing for efficient service delivery without overlap. Clarity in governance structures, particularly at the village level, helps both the community and village officials address issues more effectively and promptly. Hence, a well-organized village structure benefits both the officials and the community in their interactions with the village administration.

Simbang Kulon Village in Buaran District, Pekalongan Regency, recently underwent a reorganization, resulting in the selection of new village officials. Consequently, UNDIP KKN Team II student Krisna Aryasatya Nugraha, from the Public Administration program, updated the organizational chart for the Simbang Kulon Village Office. The new chart aligns with Pekalongan Regent Regulation No. 33 of 2022 on District and Village Organizational Structures in Pekalongan Regency.

The update was carried out on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, by Krisna Aryasatya Nugraha. The new chart was directly handed over to the Head of Simbang Kulon Village, Mr. R. Aghatha Franky Irawan, S.E. The process involved several steps, including surveying the previous chart, consulting with village officials, and finalizing the design with the approval of Simbang Kulon Village officials.

The Head of Simbang Kulon Village and the village staff highly appreciated and welcomed the new organizational chart. One staff member commented, “The chart looks great, with a batik detail representing Pekalongan’s identity. This update greatly helps us present the latest village structure to the public.”

Through this initiative, UNDIP KKN students also introduced the use of Canva for creating visually appealing designs for village-related matters. A village staff member expressed enthusiasm, saying, “Thank you for teaching us this design method; I’m excited to try creating social media posts later.” Suggested content includes announcement posters, competition posters, infographics, and the updated organizational chart.
