History
The Undergraduate Program in Public Administration has been established since January 1, 1969, concurrently with the founding of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (the precursor of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences). At that time, it was named State Administration.
Subsequently, based on Rector’s Decree of Diponegoro University No. 08/SKPT09/1983 dated January 6, 1983, the name of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences was changed to the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), consisting of the Department of Administrative Sciences, with two study programs: State Administration and Business Administration. In 2006, the Department of State Administration was renamed the Department of Public Administration. Furthermore, following a change in nomenclature, in 2015 it became the Department of Public Administration.
In accordance with Diponegoro University Rector’s Regulation No. 2 of 2019 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Units under the Rector, the Department of Public Administration, which had previously been integrated with the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration, was formally separated.
Furthermore, a department is an academic unit within a faculty or school that supports the organization of academic activities in one or more branches of science, technology, and arts in academic or professional education. A study program, on the other hand, is a unit of educational activities with a specific curriculum and teaching methods within a type of academic and/or professional education.
Accordingly, since 2019, the management of the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration has been placed under the Undergraduate Program in Public Administration, Department of Public Administration.
